In September 2015, all UN member states (193 countries) will spend the next 15 years to realize a better future.
We have adopted “Agenda 2030”, a plan to protect our planet by eliminating extreme poverty, inequality and injustice.
This plan is the “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.
In addition to the issues that the Millennium Development Goals did not adequately address, the SDGs are working on 17 goals and 169 targets, including the growing environmental issues discussed at Rio + 20, to “leave everyone behind.” It is a grand challenge to realize a world that does not make it.
